To determine effective and efficient ways to protect human life, public infrastructure, and critical watersheds from catastrophic wildfire resulting from beetle kill fuel loadings.
Grant County Collaborative (OR)
Malheur National Forest
To advance ecological, community and economic resilience and stewardship in federal forest land in Grant County, OR.
Southern Oregon Small Diameter Stewardship Collaborative (OR)
Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest
To bring together traditionally opposing interest groups in pursuit of a common goal to remove uncharacteristically high densities of small diameter trees on forest lands in the Rogue Basin.
Tushar Allotments Collaborative (UT)
Fishlake National Forest
To address natural resource conditions and livestock and elk management on the two allotments, including aspen and mountain mahogany recruitment, forage utilization, and spring, wetland and creek conditions.
Whittier Watershed Council (AK)
Chugach National Forest
To implement a comprehensive plan to monitor and protect the soil, water, air, plants, animals, social, economic, cultural pieces of the watershed. WWC will focus on citizens, student involvement in conservation of watershed resources.

To attempt to find mutually agreeable solutions to various land management issues in the Upper Clearwater Basin in Idaho. The group will address timber supply, roadless protection, wildlife habitat, and motorized access.
Pinaleño Partnership
Clearwater National Forest (AZ)
To address forest health issues in the Pinaleño Mountains. The group will examine forest conditions, define desired future conditions, develop and coordinate stewardship projects, and work toward an appropriately scaled forest industry.
Kootenai Forest Stakeholders Coalition
Kootenai National Forest (MT)
To work side by side with the Forest Service on forest health and restoration projects in an open and collaborative process eliminating appeals and litigation.

Calaveras Healthy Impact Product Solutions
Stanislaus National Forest (CA)
To promote forest health and reduce fire risks while revitalizing the local economy through producing value-added wood products for a variety of end users from currently unmarketable forest products. The NFF CAP funds will support the hiring of a part-time coordinator, Board and volunteer training, and fundraising assistance.
Coalition for Unified Recreation in the Eastern Sierra
Inyo National Forest (CA)
To involve a greater diversity of community groups and recreational providers and users in developing a balanced regional approach to minimizing impact while accommodating recreational use and protecting the unique natural, cultural and economic resources of the eastern Sierra. The NFF CAP funds will provide support for the hiring of part-time staff, development of a facilitated action plan, training and community outreach.
Federal Lakes Recreation Committee for Detroit Lake
Willamette National Forest (OR)
To develop the necessary skill set within the community to proactively engage and strengthen involvement in natural resource goals with the Forest Service and to achieve collaboratively-based outcomes. The NFF CAP funds will be used to hire a program coordinator and for various training, facilitation and skill-building exercises.
Friends of the Dillon Ranger District
White River National Forest (CO)
To promote stewardship of the White River National Forest in Summit County through volunteer service, education, support and partnerships. The NFF CAP funds will support part-time coordination staff, application for 501(c)(3) status, facilitation for strategic planning and community service projects and education.
Great Basin Trails Alliance
Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest (NV)
To minimize resource degradation, diversify rural economies and meet recreational demands on public lands through the development of trail opportunities for all user groups. The NFF CAP funds will support application for 501(c)(3) status, office equipment, a GPS unit and provide for a part-time coordinator salary.
Habitat Works of Southern California
Los Padres and Angeles National Forest (CA)
To expand volunteer outreach and participation efforts to a variety of community stakeholders to address habitat restoration needs, invasive species removal and micro-trash removal through stewardship activities on National Forest lands. The NFF CAP funds will provide support for outreach materials, tools and equipment, and filing for 501(c)(3) nonprofit status.

To best utilize forest resources to revive and sustain the local culture, community and economy while working with the Forest Service and other stakeholders to restore and maintain a healthy and sustainable forest. The NFF CAP funds will support revamping of organizational bylaws, 501(c)(3) status application and local training and employment efforts.
Panhandle Forest Coalition
Panhandle National Forest (ID)
To convene a collaborative group representing diverse interests to identify processes for conflict resolution in the context of local forest resources. The NFF CAP funds will provide support for training, facilitation, forums and public outreach, particularly around proposed projects in the Wildland Urban Interface.
Priest Community Forest Connection

To work with local communities in collaboration with the Forest Service to put together a prioritized list of fuels reduction and forest restoration projects. The NFF CAP funds will support the acquisition of office space, equipment, materials and supplies, and community outreach and education.
Salmon Drift Creek Watershed Council
Siuslaw National Forest (OR)
To bring local stakeholders together to work on watershed restoration by providing a comfortable venue for discussions and collaboration in developing action plans in partnership with the Forest Service and in monitoring the results. The NFF CAP funds will provide support for Board training, the hiring of a part-time coordinator and fundraising training.

Ocala National Forest (FL)
To develop and demonstrate strategies for enhancing cooperation between equestrians, natural resource advocates and the Forest Service, in monitoring ORV impacts, planning and management for scrub jay habitat, and developing an invasive species action plan on the Ocala National Forest. The NFF CAP funds will support application for 501(c)(3) nonprofit status, strategy development and research.
Sustainable Community Systems
Kootenai National Forest (MT)
To encourage community viability and strengthen the local economy by providing assistance to local projects and micro-enterprise ventures related primarily to value-added wood products. The NFF CAP funds will support application for 501(c)(3) status, establishment of a Board of Directors, technical assistance and start-up operational costs.
Volunteers for Outdoor Utah
Wasatch-Cache National Forest (UT)
To address recreational impacts, trail erosion, non-native species and habitat degradation on the Wasatch-Cache by providing and promoting statewide volunteer programs and trail skills training in partnership with the Forest Service. The NFF CAP funds will support the hiring of a consultant to coordinate trainings and projects, purchase of tools and equipment, fundraising, formation of a Board of Directors and community outreach.
